GA experts to share green industry knowledge at Wintergreen
By Sharon Dowdy for CAES News
The Georgia Green Industry Association’s Wintergreen Horticultural Trade Show and Conference will be held Jan. 21-23 at the Infinite Energy Forum in Duluth, Georgia.
The conference’s educational sessions will be taught by recognized leaders from the industry and experts from University of Georgia Cooperative Extension.
The three-day annual event will feature education tracks on labor solutions, production automation, pest and disease control, turfgrass care and much more. A special session on hemp production will focus on new regulations for Georgia along with research specific to Georgia growing conditions.
Many of the sessions will earn Continuing Education Units for pesticide applicators, irrigation contractors and arborists.
The two-day trade show will be open Jan. 22-23. Wintergreen exhibitors will offer a variety of plants and new introductions from leading growers, hard goods and supplies for landscape and irrigation contractors, and allied products for all segments of the industry.
Attendees can also participate in a “walkabout” led by Georgia horticultural icons Allan Armitage and Mike Dirr, who are both retired horticulture professors from the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
Online registration is available at ggia.org with early bird discounts available through Jan. 17. A complete event brochure, providing detailed descriptions of the education tracts, trade show exhibitors, and hotel and travel information, is available online at ggia.org.
